If you do not agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions you may not use or access this website. These Terms & Conditions abide by The Consumer Contract Regulations. You are welcome to print or store these Terms & Conditions for your own records.

The Secret Crocheter owns the copyright, trademarks and other intellectual property rights in all material and content on this website, which you may use, download, copy, publish, transmit or otherwise make available by any other means only for your own personal, non–commercial use.  Any other use or reproduction of the material or content is strictly prohibited. You may not create any link to this website without prior written consent, nor may you restrict or inhibit the use or enjoyment of it by anyone else. While The Secret Crocheter uses reasonable endeavours to verify the accuracy of any information placed on this website,

The Secret Crocheter make no warranties, whether express or implied in relation to its accuracy.

All patterns and kits are copyrighted and must not be copied, lent or otherwise distributed without the prior permission of the copyright owner (Nicola Coleman, May 2020) nor must it be used to make goods for sale for profit.

Products

All The Secret Crocheter’s products are handmade, and as a result a small variation is sizing and design according to images presented is to be expected.

Prices

Prices are subject to change but are correct at time of posting. Any glitches, errors or typos are not required to be honoured. If an error or inaccuracy is discovered with regards to the advertised price of the goods that you have ordered, The Secret Crocheter will contact you as soon as possible by e-mail. This will be to inform you of the correct price of the goods, and to ask you if you wish to continue with the order at the amended price, or to cancel the order altogether. Any special offers will have a clear displayed end date.

Payment

Square is The Secret Crocheter’s only payment method.

Any contract for purchases made through the website will be with The Secret Crocheter. The Secret Crocheter must receive payment of the whole of the price for the goods that you order before your order can be accepted and the contract formed.
Once payment has been received The Secret Crocheter will confirm that your order has been received by sending an email to you at the email address you provide.  The confirmation email will include your name, the order number and the total price. The Secret Crocheter’s acceptance of your order brings into existence a legally binding contract between us on these Terms & Conditions.  Any Terms & Conditions sought to be imposed by you in your order will not form part of the contract.

Promotional Codes

From time to time, The Secret Crocheter may publicise a general promotional code, offering certain discounts on products. The general promotional code is valid for only a certain time period as specified by The Secret Crocheter.  The Secret Crocheter reserves the right to withdraw the promotional code at any time.  Promotional codes are to be entered and applied during the checkout process (referred to as coupons).

Gift Vouchers

Gift vouchers are available for purchase from The Secret Crocheter that include a unique voucher number.  If using the voucher to purchase products through this website, then the voucher number is to be entered and applied during the checkout process (referred to as coupons). Otherwise, the voucher should be presented to The Secret Crocheter (for example, at a fair or a workshop). The total value of a gift voucher does not have to be used in one purchase – any remaining balance after a purchase may be carried forward  for additional purchases until the balance of the voucher has been exhausted. Each voucher is valid for six months from purchase date – the expiry date is specified on the voucher itself.  Gift vouchers have no cash value, cannot be extended, are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Shipping

A further email will be sent to you once your order has been shipped.  Orders are normally shipped within 5 working days unless stated otherwise stated on the product page (e.g. made to order items). During busier periods, such as holidays and the run up to Christmas, you may also need to allow longer. If there is a delay with your order, The Secret Crocheter will advise you as soon as possible.

The Secret Crocheter posts orders via Royal Mail 2nd Class Delivery. The cost for this service will be clearly displayed to you during the checkout process. Should your order not arrive, please contact The Secret Crocheter.  A full refund or a replacement will be offered once 15 days from the date of posting has passed.

The Secret Crocheter is based in Melksham, Wiltshire.  If you live locally and would prefer to pick up your order in person, free of any shipping charges, then please use the ‘local pickup’ shipping option during the checkout process.  If you select ‘local pickup’ during the checkout process, The Secret Crocheter will contact you after you have placed your order to arrange a suitable date and time for you to collect your order.  This will normally be within 5 working days of receiving your order. During busier periods, such as the run up to Christmas, you may need to allow longer.  If there is a delay with your order, The Secret Crocheter will advise you as soon as possible.

Returns & Cancellations

The Secret Crocheter ensures all items that are posted to customers are of the highest standard, but if there is ever a need to return an item we do accept returns for a full refund less the original cost of postage.

Under The Consumer Contract Regulations, your right to cancel begins from the moment you place your order, up to 14 working days after receiving your order.  Your right to cancel is unconditional.

If you wish to return an item, please notify The Secret Crocheter in writing (email is fine) detailing your name, address, order number, order date and what you would like to return.  The Secret Crocheter will then process your return and supply you with the return address, or arrange a suitable date and time for you to return your order in person.

For postal returns, The Secret Crocheter would be grateful if you would return your items via recorded or tracked post.  This is for your peace of mind, and The Secret Crocheter’s. This is not a requirement of law, this is a courtesy request.

Items marked as being reduced for having a defect, damage or any other reason will be exempt from the returns policy.

Return postage will be paid by the customer if the order is no longer wanted.  If the reason for the return is The Secret Crocheter’s responsibility, return postage will be paid by The Secret Crocheter.

Please read the information below carefully before buying any of my clothes for crocheters.

I am unable to offer a free returns service to you if the clothes for crocheters you have purchased do not fit or you have changed your mind.  However, if you return the item to me and pay for the postage, I will refund you the full amount as long as there is no damage to the item.

Please read the size information carefully before buying and feel free to get in touch for a chat about sizes – I’ll do my best to advise you! 

If you would like to try a different size or colour, you will need to buy another item from the online shop and pay for the postage.  As I am a small business, I will not be selling every design in every colour and size.

You will be given a care guide with every purchase so please read this carefully before washing your item.

If your item is faulty on delivery, please get in touch with me straight away (thesecretcrocheter@yahoo.com).  You have 28 days from the date of purchase to return you item.

Returning Custom Items

Custom made items are exempt from The Consumer Contract Regulations – the only exception being is if they’re faulty, not as described, not fit for purpose or any other fault of The Secret Crocheter; in this case, please refer to the returns section of this document.

Workshop cancellations

To book a place on one of my workshops, or to book a 1-2-1 lesson, the full amount must be paid at the time of booking to secure your place.  You will receive a booking confirmation email which also has a button to click in case you need to cancel your workshop. 

If you need to cancel your workshop, you have up until 48 hours before the workshop takes place in order to receive a full refund.  Providing that you have given the correct contact details at the time of booking, you will receive an email reminder 72 hours before the workshop takes place.  Occasionally these emails can go to your spam folder so please keep an eye out for them!  Once you have cancelled your workshop, I will issue you with your refund.  Please note that this may take up to 7 business days to appear in your account. 

Any cancellations within 48 hours of the workshop will not receive a refund.  Sometimes workshops are over-subscribed so I hold a waiting list and MAY be able to re-fill your place.  If I am able to re-fill your place, a full refund will be given.  For some workshops where a refund has not been given, it may be possible to issue you with the kit for the workshop.

In the unlikely event that I have to cancel a workshop, a full refund will be given.

This may seem a little strict but I buy a lot of the resources for the workshops in advance, based on how many people have booked.  If you cancel your place at short notice then I am out of pocket, which has quite a big impact on my small business.
