If you’re reading this, there is a very good chance you will already have supported The Secret Crocheter, my beloved small business, in many ways already. I am so thankful for all the kits and patterns you have bought, and the workshops you have attended.
Grateful doesn’t really cover it; I simply couldn’t have got where I am today without your backing!
However, as we are all keenly aware, we live in difficult times and it’s tough out there for a small business.
And I want to level with you: I could do with a little bit of extra help from you, my crochet partners in crime.
It doesn’t have to cost a penny, but it will mean the world to me, hopefully help you feel even more part of this community we’re building together, and help to future-proof the joy we have all found in being a part of The Secret Crocheter.
1. Stay Connected: Ways to Support a Small Crochet Business
I LOVE IT when you buy patterns and kits from the online shop or contact me to book workshops. Every penny you spend is very much appreciated.
But it isn’t just about spending all your hard earned cash!
You wouldn’t believe the difference it makes when you keep in touch with me and the crochet world online.
It can all get a bit techy, but in simple terms: if we are talking, whether that be you asking me a question and me answering, you reposting one of my social media posts or you posting a photo and tagging me in, that really helps to grow my business. It’s a win-win: I really want to get to know my community more (and yes, that includes you asking for help, or posting a picture of a woolly make!) AND build it at the same time. The more we have in this wonderful world we’ve created, the better. It’ll take you two minutes, but it means everything to me.
So, how can you best Keep In Touch with The Secret Crocheter?
- Follow me on Facebook and Instagram
- Engage with me there – post pictures, repost my posts, ask questions, even just say hello! Let’s get to know each other
- Enjoy the free tutorials I share
- Watch the little videos featuring tricks and tips I post – and even share them with others if you like
2. Join My FREE Facebook group for Crochet Lovers
I know, you’re a member of a million Facebook groups already…and most of them probably get on your nerves. But this one is different…promise! A supportive and friendly space where everyone loves crochet…what could be better?! And best of all…it’s FREE.
Membership to this group is simple: you only need to have bought something from my online shop – and that could even be purchasing one of the FREE patterns on there (hint, hint) – so there really is no excuse!
Why should you join?!
- It’s a free, inclusive and fun community
- We have a monthly competition – all you need to do is post a photo and you could win a £5 gift voucher to spend in the Secret Crocheter shop (what’s not to love?!)
- You’ll be supporting my business. It might not feel like this easy action will make much difference, but believe me, it really does!
3. Leave a Review & Help a Small Crochet Business Thrive
Something everyone is asking for these days is a review, and I do know it can be hard to take a few minutes out of a busy day (especially when you’ve already been asked by 12 huge companies that day already, who probably won’t even pay attention to what you have to say). But writing a (good!) review for The Secret Crocheter will make me smile more than anything (maybe even a toasted teacake and a cuppa). It means you appreciate my business, want it to do well, and most of all, will show other people you think The Secret Crocheter is doing something special. Five star reviews will a) make me feel fantastic, b) support my business to grow and c) make you feel like a Small Business Hero!
How could you go about writing a review?
- Write me a quick review on Google
- Visit my Facebook page and leave one there
- Not sure on how to do the above? Simply email me (nicola@thesecretcrocheter.com) your positive thoughts and comments and I will share them.
I am filled with warmth and gratitude when I think of my crochet gang. I hope you feel the same way too, and that by following one or two of my suggestions, you will feel the benefits in YOUR crochet life, too. I think of us as one big woolly web of connection, which I hope we can continue to grow and grow together.
