If you’re looking for a free crochet flower pattern that’s quick, easy, and actually useful…you’re in the right place.

These little crochet flowers are one of my go-to makes when I want something simple, satisfying, and done in minutes. They’re perfect for adding to birthday cards, gift tags, or popping onto a present to give it that lovely handmade touch.

They’re also brilliant for stash busting…you only need a tiny bit of yarn, so it’s a great way to use up all those leftover bits we all seem to have!

What you’ll need for the crocheted flowers

You don’t need much at all for this one:

  • Small amounts of yarn (DK works beautifully)
  • A suitable crochet hook
  • Stitch marker
  • Scissors
  • Darning needle (optional, for finishing)

Crochet Flower Pattern (UK Terms)

Start with a slip knot and chain 5.

Look for the furthest chain from your hook and join with a slip stitch to form a circle.

Chain 2, pop a stitch marker into the 2nd chain, then work 11 treble crochets into the centre of the circle.

Join your round with a slip stitch into the stitch just after your stitch marker.

Chain 2, then work 5 treble crochets into the same stitch.

Slip stitch into the next stitch.

Now repeat the following all the way round:

5 treble crochets into the next stitch, slip stitch into the next stitch

Keep going until you have 6 petals.

Finish with a slip stitch into the last stitch, fasten off, and sew in your ends.

And that’s it…you’ve made a crochet flower!
